What this extension does
Make Social Media Boring is a browser extension that changes how supported social media websites look and behave in your browser (for example by hiding media, ads, and sorting posts differently). These changes happen locally on your device.
Data we collect
This extension does not collect or sell your personal data. The only thing stored is your settings (via Chrome storage) so preferences can sync between your devices.
- Settings: your extension preferences are stored using Chrome’s sync storage on your Google account / devices so settings can follow you between browsers. This data stays within Chrome’s storage systems.
- No analytics SDK is bundled in the extension.
Website contact form
If you use the feedback form on this website, your message is delivered by FormSubmit to reubenh.1996@gmail.com. Optional name/email fields are only used if you provide them so a reply is possible. Do not send passwords or sensitive account credentials.
Permissions
- storage — save your on/off preferences.
- Host access to listed social sites — required so the extension can modify those pages’ appearance. The extension does not use this access to upload your activity elsewhere.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
